Betty Jean Smith, 84 of Lambertville, MI, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Elizabeth Scott Community, Maumee, OH. Born January 15, 1932, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Silvers and Mabel (Meyer) Oswald. A 1950 graduate of Bedford High School, she married Richard Smith on February 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2006. Betty was a self-employed seamstress all her life. Betty also made bibs, slippers and hats for the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, OH. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and going up north and was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Toledo, OH.
She is survived by her loving children, Sandy (Don) Wintersteen and James (Thomas) Smith. 2 grandchildren, Ryan Wintersteen and Matthew (Sonya) WIntersteen. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Oswald.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 am.
